Network Controllability in Transmodal Cortex Predicts Psychosis Spectrum Symptoms
نویسندگان
چکیده
The psychosis spectrum (PS) is associated with structural dysconnectivity concentrated in transmodal association cortex. However, understanding of this pathophysiology has been limited by an exclusive focus on the direct connections to a region. Using Network Control Theory (NCT), we measured variation both and indirect region gain new insights into PS.

Converging evidence for the role of transmodal cortex in cognition.
The studies by Vidaurre et al. (1) and Vatansever et al. (2) in PNAS provide contrasting, yet complementary insights into the role that regions of transmodal cortex, including those in the default mode network (DMN) (3) and the fronto-parietal network (FPN) (4), play in cognition. Vatansever et al. (2) used task-based fMRI to illustrate how the DMN and FPN work collectively to guide complex beh...
متن کاملStructural Brain Network Disturbances in the Psychosis Spectrum.
BACKGROUND Individuals with subclinical psychotic symptoms provide a unique window on the pathophysiology of psychotic experiences as these individuals are free of confounders such as hospitalization, negative and cognitive symptoms and medication use. Brain network disturbances of white matter connections are thought to play a central role in the pathophysiology of psychosis. Based on the stru...

Prospective evaluation of youths with early psychotic-like experiences can enrich our knowledge of clinical, biobehavioral and environmental risk and protective factors associated with the development of psychotic disorders. We aimed to investigate the predictors of persistence or worsening of psychosis spectrum features among US youth through the first large systematic study to evaluate subcli...
متن کاملKey to Network Controllability
Liu et. al. recently proposed a minimum number of driver nodes, ND, needed to obtain full structural controllability over a directed network [1]. Driver nodes are unmatched nodes, from which there are directed paths to all matched nodes. Their most important assertion is that a system’s controllability is to a great extent encoded by the underlying network’s degree distribution, P (kin, kout). ...
